5 killed as earth caves in at Samastipur
Five people were killed in Bihar’s Samastipur on Friday while they were digging land for constructing a pond at the spot ahead of the Chhath Puja.
Those killed included three women and 1 child. Three of them died at the spot while two others breathed their last in the hospital.
According to ADM Sanjay Upadhyaya, the rescue operation is over and the kin of the deceased will be given an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh.
