A fire broke out at the parking area near the venue of the Yelahanka Air Force station on Saturday, where the 12th edition of Aero India is underway in Bengaluru. According to the fire department, nearly 300 cars were gutted in the fire which was later controlled by creating a gap by removing adjacent cars.
A blanket of thick black smoke engulfed the area causing panic among locals and those visiting Aero India on its fourth day.
Reason of the fire, however, was yet not known.
According to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the fire broke out at gate number 5 of the parking area near the venue.

No injuries or casualties were reported into the incident.
The situation was later brought under control.
Earlier on Tuesday, one pilot was killed as military aircraft of the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT) met with a head-on collision during a sortie as part of the preparations for the Bengaluru Aero India 2019 air show.
The Bengaluru Aero India 2019 air show began on February 20.
