Counting of votes for the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency is about to end. D. K. Suresh of Congress is leading on the seat and is set to register an astounding win over his nearest rival Ashwath Narayangowda of BJP.
The key candidates in the constituency are DK Suresh of Congress and Ashwathnarayangowda of BJP.
The Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency of Karnataka is currently held by DK Suresh of INC.
At the time of the previous Lok Sabha election in 2014, Bangalore Rural had 2,190,397 registered electors -- 1,135,845 of them male and 1,054,552 female. The constituency had seen a 66.44 per cent voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, DK Suresh beat P Muniraju Gowda of BJP by receiving 44.90 per cent of the votes cast in this constituency.
The Lok Sabha constituency went to polls in the second phase of the election -- on April 18 and recorded a voter turnout of 64.09 per cent.
The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11.
