This constituency had been the stronghold of the Congress till 2004. But since 2004, in the past three elections, BJP has won. N Keshava Iyengar from the INC was the first MP to represent this constituency when the first general election were held in India.

Bangalore North constituency key candidates 

DV Sadananda Gowda of BJP is leading against Krishna Byregowda of Congress with 2,81,240 votes in Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency.

Krishna Byregowda is trailing by 2,58,961 votes.

Bangalore North comprises eight assembly constituencies -- KR Pura, Byatarayanapura, Yeshwanthapura, Dasarahalli, Mahalakshmi Layout, Malleshwaram, Hebbal and Pulakeshinagar.

This constituency had been the stronghold of the Congress till 2004. But since 2004, in the past three elections, BJP has won. N Keshava Iyengar from the INC was the first MP to represent this constituency when the first general election were held in India.

The Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency is currently held by Sadananda Gowda. He won against C Narayana Swamy of Congress by receiving 52.90 per cent votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Sadananda is pitted against Krishna Byregowda of the Congress.

The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11.
