Counting of votes for Baghpat Lok Sabha constituency is underway and BJP's Satyapal Singh has taken a lead of 14,000 votes over Rashtriya Lok Dal's Jayant Choudhary.
BJP's Dr Satyapal Singh is the sitting MP from Baghpat.
In 2014 Lok Sabha election, Singh defeated Samajwadi Party's Ghulam Mohammed by a big vote margin. Singh secured about 42 per cent votes while Ghulam Mohammed could only secure 21 per cent of votes.
Baghpat has 15,05,175 voters out of which about 57 per cent are men and 43 per cent are women.
Baghpat comprises of five assembly constituencies.
The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11.
Simultaneous elections were held to the assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha -- the results for which will also be out today.
