Khalistani Liberation Force (KLF) leader Harminder Singh alias Mintoo, who was arrested from Delhi earlier this week after he escaped with five other inmates from Punjab’s Nabha Jail, has revealed that his handler – Harmeet, is living in a safe house under the protection of ISI in Dera Chall village of Lahore.
Mintoo told his interrogators that few days before he escaped from the jail, he had a Skype chat with Harmeet, a KLF militant who managed to flee to Pakistan.
The ISI, he said, had made elaborate plans to infuse militancy in Punjab against through the KLF under his leadership.
Mintoo informed that he had base in countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand and that the ISI had planned to bring back militancy in the border state using these sleepers. He had even contacted these people between 2009 and 2014.
Germany-based sympathisers of the KLF were sending money to Mintoo through Western Union money transfer, the officials interrogating him said.
On November 27, the day he escaped the jail, lakhs of rupees were deposited in a bank account which was supposed to be handed over to Mintoo by a sweet shop owner, later arrested by Punjab Police.
KLF sympathizer Sandeep from England had also sent him money through the Hawala channel, sources said.
Mintoo was also carrying a fake passport in the name of Bakshish Singh which he used to stay in Malaysia.
Mintoo confessed that he masterminded the jailbreak incident. He revealed that it six months back that he first contacted an inmate by the name of Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, who later contacted Vickey to arrange his local criminals to wait for a suitable day for the attack.
Parminder being close to Satnam Kaur (daughter of the KLF militant) was given responsibility to arrange the arms. Punjab police is probing arms trail with assistance of UP police.
Mintoo further revealed that he had also a strong base in Goa. His family moved to Goa in 1989.
Meanwhile, raids are being carried out in Punjab to look for Satnam Kaur. Teams will visit Goa to look for Mintoo’s aide.
