The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) will organise a sale of handloom clothes here on Friday to raise revenues for war widows.
The event, which will be organized at the Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden, is scheduled to be inaugurated by Madhulika Rawat, wife of Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat.
Space has been offered in the mall for the association members to set up kiosks which will sell handmade bed sheets, cushions, stoles and other handloom products.
The AWWA is one of the largest registered non-governmental organisations of India. It came into existence in 1966.
Rehabilitation of war widows and battle casualties is one of the objectives of this organisation apart from empowering beneficiaries through vocational training and protecting human rights violations of Army personnel and their dependents.
