Amit Shah slams opposition parties in MP
On a visit to poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Saturday asserted the country comes first for the party and no intruders will be allowed in India. While addressing his party workers at the Dussehra Maidan in Indore, Shah slammed the opposition parties over intruders within the country.
They support the intruders for political gains but for the BJP the country comes first, the BJP president said, adding the intruders are therefore being identified in several states across the country.
Shah took a jibe at the Congress party and said those questioning the BJP-led government on its four-year rule should first give an account of their four-decade rule.
"In the last four years, the BJP has worked for the benefits to reach every section of the society," he said.
The BJP president was welcomed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other leaders upon his arrival in the state.
Several people however, took to the streets and raised slogans against Shah over the amendment to the SC/ST Act.
Protesters including members of the Karni Sena and Swarn Samaj were arrested by the police.
Shah will further visit Jhabua to address a group of tribal people.
