Union Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on Rahul Gandhi saying that the Congress Vice President has ignored the people of Amethi whom he has represented in Lok Sabha since 2004. Irani, who contested from Amethi in 2014 elections but lost to Rahul Gandhi, is in the town for BJP’s mega rally, being attended by Bharatiaya Janata Party President Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath among others.

The BJP president, who is being accompanied by Adityanath and Irani, has a slew of programmes lined up in Amethi, Sitapur and Lucknow districts.
Shah will be laying the foundation stones of 51 offices during a religious function in Sitapur and inaugurating a series of programmes in Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
In Lucknow, Shah will also unveil books on the personality and works of five former chiefs of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
