A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, threatened a woman Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in full public view over some issues being faced by local farmers. The video of the incident has now gone viral.
The video, released by news agency ANI, shows SDM Garima Singh (in red sweater) listening silently while MLA Udaybhan Chaudhary openly threatens her about his 'powers'.
"Don't you know I am an MLA? Don't you realize my power, the power of democracy?" Chaudhary is seen telling the woman official in the video. The incident reportedly took place on Monday, December 17.

In October, the then Ladpura (Rajasthan) BJP MLA allegedly abused and threatened to slap a government official over delay in procurement of lentils during a visit to a market.
"If I slap you, you will urinate in your pants," MLA Bhawani Singh Rajawat had told deputy registrar of Rajasthan State Co-operative Marketing Federation Limited (RAJFED) Ajay Singh Panwar.
Rajawat was visiting the Bhamashah Mandi to take stock of procurement of urad dal when he allegedly lost his temper after the farmers said there were irregularities in the process.
