After the brutal murder of class student Pradyuman Thakur in the washroom of Gurugram-based Ryan International School last month, a Class 1 female student was allegedly sexually assaulted in the washroom of Sant Nirankari Public School in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar by a housekeeping staff member on Thursday.
According to reports, the student went to the washroom where she called for the female attendant. However, the accused, a housekeeping staff member, went inside the washroom, and tried to molest her.
The matter came to light when the girl told her parents about the incident. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
More details are awaited.
The incident comes close on the heels of the brutal murder of class 2 student Pradyuman Thakur who was found dead in the washroom of Ryan International School, Gurgaon, on September 8.
Police alleged that school bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, 42, killed him with a knife after the boy resisted an attempt to sodomise him.
The murder had triggered a nationwide outrage, prompting the government to order more security and facilities in the schools around the national capital region.
