Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday attended the Dussehra celebrations in Mumbai and targeted the Eknath Shinde-led government in the state.

"There should be strong government, but not of one party with brute majority," Uddhav said while targeting the Centre.
"It's been 57 years but we didn't let this ritual to stop... Ravan was also a Shiv Bhakt (Lord Shiva's follower) but even then Lord Ram had to kill him because he kidnapped Sita," Uddhav said.
"The way Lord Hanuman had put on fire Ravan's Lanka... in the same way we will dahan this 'Khokasur' (aiming at Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena)," Uddhav Thackeray added.
"There are several questions in front of the country and Maharashtra... I would like to thank Manoj Jarange who is leading his agitation in a good manner," he added.
'Like General Dyer's regime...', Uddhav targets Shinde govt
Further targeting the Maharashtra government, Uddhav Thackeray compared it with the regime of General Dyer adding they lathi-charged Marathi people.
"I was also chief minister but never ordered lathi-charge on Marathas... police does not do anything on its own... which General Dyer had given the order? If the traitors have the courage then give justice to Marathas...," Uddhav Thackeray asked.
"The issue of Maratha reservation will be solved in Lok Sabha only... the House has the authority...." he said.
"You (CM Shinde) can target me but I have no match with you...," Uddhav mentioned.
Lashing out at the BJP, Uddhav Thackeray said, "...they had no role in the freedom struggle... wherever BJP goes, they destroy people... Manoj Jarange, beware of BJP.
