Salman Khan house firing: In the latest development in the Salman Khan house firing case, the Navi Mumbai Police has filed a chargesheet against five arrested Lawrence Bishnoi gang members, detailing a plot to assassinate the Bollywood actor. In the chargesheet, the Navi Mumbai Police, which is investigating the case of an attempt to murder actor Salman Khan, revealed that the Bishnoi gang was planning a Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala-type attack on the Bollywood actor for which they were preparing to buy sophisticated weapons from Pakistan.

On the morning of April 14, two men arrived on a motorcycle and fired four gunshots outside the Galaxy Apartments, the residence of the actor in Bandra. Following the incident, the assailants quickly fled the scene. Surveillance footage revealed that both suspects were wearing caps and carrying backpacks.

What did chargesheet reveal?

In the chargesheet, the police disclosed that around 60 to 70 individuals were tracking Salman Khan's every movement. Further investigation revealed that these individuals were monitoring Salman Khan's house in Mumbai, his farmhouse in Panvel, and his movements at Film City in Goregaon.

The accused were preparing to buy sophisticated weapons from Pakistan, including AK 47, AK 92, and M-16 rifles, as well as the Turkish-made Zigana pistol using which Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was killed. These weapons were intended to be used to assassinate Salman Khan.

Sources revealed that the police mentioned in the chargesheet that the Bishnoi gang had announced a contract of Rs 25 lakh to kill the actor.

The police stated in the chargesheet that the plan to kill Salman Khan was hatched between August 2023 and April 2024. The police also mentioned that the accused had hired boys under 18 years of age to assist in the plot.

The police said that all the shooters were waiting for orders from Goldy Brar and Anmol Bishnoi. As soon as they received the orders, they would use the sophisticated weapons imported from Pakistan to kill Salman Khan. All these shooters were hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.

Y-Plus security to Salman Khan

Notably, since November 2022, Salman's security level has been elevated to Y-Plus after threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. The actor was also authorised to carry a personal firearm and has also acquired a new armoured vehicle for added protection.

Earlier in May, the Mumbai Crime Branch wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs, requesting to issue a lookout notice against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol. Anmol Bishnoi took responsibility for the firing at Salman Khan's house a few hours after the incident through his Facebook profile.
