Pune Porsche crash case: Forensic report confirms mother's blood samples used as replacement

Pune Porsche crash case: Two IT professionals were killed in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar in Pune after a Porsche allegedly being driven by the minor, who the police claim was drunk, rammed into their two-wheeler.

Pune Porsche crash case: Pune Police on Wednesday told a court that the forensic reports confirmed that the blood samples of the mother were used to replace those of the 17-year-old driver involved in the Porsche crash which claimed two lives.

Earlier on June 1,  Pune Police had arrested Shivani Agarwal, the mother of the 17-year-old accused, in the Porsche car accident case after confirmation that his blood samples were replaced with those of his mother.

Minor's parents  to be in police custody until June 10

The sessions court extended the police custody of the teen's parents Vishal Agarwal and mother Shivani Agarwal till June 10 on the police's request. The court also extended Dr Srihari Halnor, Dr Ajay Taware, and Atul Ghatkamble of Susun Hospital to be in police custody until June 7.

The Juvenile Justice Board also extended the remand of the juvenile accused at the observation home till June 12.

Two doctors and an employee of the Sassoon General Hospital here were arrested last month for allegedly replacing the minor's blood samples following the accident on May 19 to show that he was not drunk at the time. It is alleged that one of the doctors was in touch with the teen's father.

What is the case?

Notably, two IT professionals died after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche allegedly driven by the drunk minor in the early hours of May 19.

The teenager was initially granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board, which also asked him to write an essay on road accidents. But after the public outcry over the lenient treatment and a review application by the police, he was sent to an observation home. The crime branch is currently probing the case.

The police have arrested the teenager's father, mother, who is a realtor, and his grandfather in connection with the accident.
