In the latest development in the high-profile case, the father and mother of the juvenile accused along with one other person have been sent to police custody till 14th June by Pune district court on Monday.
The juvenile's father, real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, and his mother are currently in police custody in a blood sample swapping case.
Father and grandfather booked in cheating case
Meanwhile, Pimpri Chinchwad Police of Pune district on Monday registered a separate case of cheating against the father of the minor accused and 4 others. The accused are booked under IPC sections 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) at Hinjewadi police station. According to Senior Police Inspector, Hinjewadi police station Kanhiya Thorat gave detail of the case and said that further investigation is going on.
Troubles are mounting over the accused’s family as his father and grandfatherwere recently booked for alleged involvement in a case related to abetment of suicide of a businessman's son in the city. The grandfather is currently in judicial custody for alleged kidnapping and wrongful confinement of their family driver. According to police, he held the driver in captivity and pressurised him to accept the blame of the incident.
Pune Porsche case
It is pertinent to note that the juvenile was allegedly drunk while driving the luxury car on May 19, when he rammed into two techies riding on a bike killing both of them. Later, the Juvenile Justice Board took a lenient view and asked the juvenile to write an essay as a punishment. After massive public outcry and Maharashtra Police review applications, the accused was booked.
However, the case took various twists as the accused minor’s blood samples were allegedly swapped with his mother’s sample to manipulate the traces of alcohol. As the law is taking its course, accused’s mother, father and grandfather find themselves in multiple troubles.
