Lok Sabha Elections 2024: All India Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in an event Elan-e-Lok Sabha Elections organised in Maharashtra's Pune requested the people belonging to the Muslim community to vote for four particular candidates if they wish to elect a secular government in power. Jamaat-e-Tanzim's member Osman Hiroli requested the Muslim community to vote for NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar's party candidate Supriya Sule in Baramati, Amol Kohle in Shirur, Ravindra Dhangekar in Pune, and Sanjog Waghire in Maval Lok Sabha constituency.
Osman Hiroli further said that if a secular government is to be brought in the country, then it is everyone's duty to vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, hence the Muslim community should fulfil this duty.
According to reports, more than 10,000 people from the Muslim community were present at this event. All India Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind said that it is also taking the help of social media platforms to spread their message.
Let us tell you that earlier during the election campaign for the by-elections on two seats of Maharashtra Assembly in February 2023, there was an uproar over a statement made by Osman Hiroli.
While addressing an election rally, he had said, "Wherever Muslims are, whether in Saudi, Dubai, Kuwait, call them and get them voting. Call out even the dead Muslims, only then it is possible to defeat PM Modi and RSS.''
The former Congress ex-corporator said that PM Modi cannot be defeated unless Muslims vote in large numbers. He made this statement in the minority meeting of NCP. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had expressed objection to his statement saying that the way minorities were being polarised is fatal.
