Pankaja Munde, the BJP National Secretary, has made an emotional appeal to her supporters following a series of suicides in Beed district after her defeat in the Beed Lok Sabha constituency. She visited the families of the deceased, offering emotional support and urging her followers to refrain from taking their lives.
During her visit to Chinchwadi on Monday, Munde met the family of a young man from Dighol Amba in Ambajogai taluk who had committed suicide. Munde, visibly emotional, expressed her grief and guilt over the incidents. Speaking to the media, she urged her supporters to give her the strength to fight rather than resort to suicide. "If suicides do not stop, I will leave politics”, she stated. She also assured the supporters that she would change this whole picture in the next 100 days. Munde emphasized that such actions do not achieve anything and implored her supporters to provide her with the strength needed for her political battles.
“I never get so emotional, tears do not come out of my eyes, but this incident made me emotional, I feel guilty about these incidents, workers should not take such a big decision, I still have to fight, I need your strength for that fight. Your strength is the strength I need from you”, said Panjaka Munde
Two supporters committed suicide
The tragic incidents continued with the suicides of Pandurang Sonawane in Dighol Amba, Ambajogai, and Sachin Kondiba Munde from Yestar in Ahmedpur. On her visit to these villages, Munde consoled the bereaved families, assuring them of her steadfast support. "Do not kill yourself, save your life by considering it as my life, come out of this despair," she appealed.
Munde's visit brought some solace to the grieving families, but the emotional toll was evident as family members broke down in tears upon seeing her. She reaffirmed her commitment to stand by the affected families and work towards changing the situation in Beed.
