In an anonymous mail, the Nagpur Police Control Room on Monday morning received information about a bomb being planted in the Dwarka Hotel near Ganesh Peth bus stand. A fire brigade team along with the police reached the spot and an investigation is being carried out.
The city police reached the location along with a dog squad. A video from the spot showed vehicles of the Nagpur municipal corporation fire and emergency service stationed as police personnel along with canines comb the area.
Recent incidents of bomb threat:
Earlier, in the day, around 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails with the sender demanding $30,000, a police official informed. The threat was sent in a single email marked to the city's prominent schools including DPS RK Puram; GD Goenka, Paschim Vihar; The British School, Chanakyapuri; The Mother's International, Aurobindo Marg; Modern School, Mandi House; DPS Vasant Kunj; Delhi Police Public School, Safdarjung; DPS East of Kailash and Salwan Public Schools.
The schools suspended the classes and students were sent back home. Police officials said that nothing suspicious has been found yet and search operations are underway. Detection teams, fire officials, local police and dog squads responded immediately and reached the schools to comb the institutions.
On Sunday, an unidentified caller claimed that bombs had been planted at three major commuter stations in Lucknow, but it turned out to be a hoax. The call received around 8 am through Dial 112 emergency service indicated the presence of bombs at Hussainganj Metro Station, Charbagh Railway Station and Alambagh Bus Station, officials said.
The police and security forces were alerted and teams of bomb disposal experts and dog squads were dispatched to the sites.
