Two people died after a part of a house collapsed in Vijay Nagar located in the Antop Hill area of Mumbai, officials said on Friday (June 14). The incident took place at around 9.27 pm when wall portion of second and third floor of ground plus upper three floored hutment partially collapsed and some portion hanging precariously, inflicting injuries upon people, BMC said. The fire brigade officials reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
The injured were rushed to a hospital where two were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Shobadevi Mourya, 45, and Zakirunissa Shaikh, 50.

In tragic news, at least two people lost their lives after a section of an under-construction building collapsed on Sunday (June 9) in Mumbai's Vikhroli West area. Officials said the incident occurred around 11:10 p.m. as heavy rains continued to lash parts of Mumbai and its suburban areas.
The officials informed that the Mumbai Fire Brigade promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations upon receiving information about the accident from the locals. They reported that a portion of the parapet (iron beam) and a slab of the G+5 under-construction building situated at Kailas Business Park, Near TATA power House, Park Site, Vikhroli West, had fallen, with some parts also hanging precariously, amid the heavy rains. The precarious parts were later removed by fireman using rescue tools, the officials added.
