Maharashtra Political Crisis: A scuffle erupted on Tuesday between supporters of NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar over the party office in Nashik. Two days after the split in Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Ajit Pawar inaugurated the new party office in Mumbai. It is being said that Supporters of Ajit Pawar and Chhagan Bhujbal took possession of the party office in Nashik city. This led to a vociferous protest by the local Sharad Pawar loyalists.
After, Bhujbal's supporters took over 'Rashtrawadi Bhavan' (NCP office in Mumbai Naka area) in morning, Sharad Pawar's loyalists made attempts to enter the office in afternoon, that led to a face-off between the two factions. Taking action, police stopped senior Pawar's supporters to enter the office.
“This is Rashtrawadi Pratishthan's office. Bhujbal does not have anything to do with it. All are our leaders but Sharad Pawar has founded the NCP and it is his party. We will take possession of the office within a day,” former city unit president Gajanan Shelar, also a supporter of Sharad Pawar said.
