Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 HIGHLIGHTS: Maharashtra has voiced its opinion and it’s time for the results today (June 4). The counting of votes began at 8 am. The postal ballots were counted first before the opening of the EVMs for counting of votes. Along with the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results across the country, the outcome of the general elections in Maharashtra is all set to come today. MVA outperformed the NDA in the state, as per the ECI trends. The state, comprising 48 parliamentary seats, went to polls in the first five phases of the Lok Sabha Elections. There are two major alliances in the state – BJP-led NDA (BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar’s NCP), and Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc (Congress, Sharad Pawar’s NCP SP, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT). This the first general elections after the split of both Shiv Sena and NCP in 2022 and 23 respectively, ahead of the crucial national elections. The BJP contested on 28 seats, Shiv Sena 15, NCP 4 and RSP 1. In the Opposition's alliance, the Shiv Sena UBT contested on 21 seats, Congress on 17 and NCP SP on 10 seats. Some tall leaders like Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal were leading in the initial trends. Key candidates who contested in Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024 include Piyush Goyal (BJP, Mumbai-North), Nitin Gadkari (BJP, Nagpur), Supriya Sule (NCP (Sharad Pawar), Baramati), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena (UBT), Mumbai-South), Varsha Gaikwad (Congress, Mumbai North Central), Ujjwal Nikam (BJP, Mumbai North Central), Kapil Patil (BJP, Bhiwandi), Rajan Baburao Vichare (Shiv Sena (UBT), Thane), Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena, Kalyan), Danve Raosaheb Dadarao (BJP, Jalna), Pankaja Munde (BJP, Beed).
