Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday hit back at his former ally Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for his "intoxicated monkeys" remark, saying the former CM had lost his mental balance.
Earlier, Thackeray, at a poll rally on Wednesday, had said that Fadnavis and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde were "intoxicated monkeys" speaking on the instructions of those sitting in Delhi.
Fadnavis said "Uddhav Thackeray has lost his mental balance. He needs treatment by a psychiatrist. He is talking like this because he can see defeat in the elections clearly."
The senior BJP leader added the people have rejected him, therefore he was using foul language.
Thackeray does 'dogli rajneeti': Shinde
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also targeted Thackeray by accusing him of doing "dogli rajneeti" (double-faced politics) and alleged that his predecessor was plotting an attack on his house while pretending to be making a peace offer for his return to the Shiv Sena after they split nearly two years ago.
Shinde, who now heads the "real" Shiv Sena, also said Thackeray was totally opposite to the party founder Balasaheb Thackeray and was only interested in furthering his self-interest, unlike his father who always stood by his party's workers and never went back on his words.
