Kalyan Election Results 2024: The Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency has witnessed a contest between Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde and Shiv Sena UBT leader Vaishali Rane.

Kalyan Election Results 2024: Shiv Sena candidate Shrikant Shinde is leading with 62,003 votes against Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackrey)'s candidate Vaishali Darekar from the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency.

Kalyan is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. The state has 48 parliamentary seats. The Kalyan seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Ambernath, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan East, Dombivali, Kalyan Rural, Mumbra-kalwa. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The SHS, the NCP are the main parties in the constituency. The contest is between Maharashtra Chief  Minister Eknath Shinde’s son Shrikant and Uddhav Thackera’s UBT leader Vaishali Darekar Rane. The results of the elections are being announced today.

Kalyan Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Key parties and candidates

The contest is between Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena UBT. The constituency has been a stronghold of undivided Shiv Sena. The sitting MP Shrikant Shinde, who is the sitting MP from Kalyan and son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is a part of Eknath Shinde's camp. Uddhav Thackeray’s party has pitted Vaishali Darekar Rane - a former MNS leader - against Shrikant.

The constituency went to polls in the fifth phase on May 20 along with 12 other constituencies.

Kalyan Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voter turnout

The Lok Sabha seat witnessed a voter turnout of 50.12 per cent, according to the Election Commission data.

Kalyan Lok Sabha Elections 2014 and 2019

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena won the seat with a margin of 344,343 votes. Shrikant Eknath Shinde was polled 559,723 votes with a vote share of 63.00 % and defeated Babaji Balaram Patil from NCP who got 215,380 votes (24.18 %).

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Shrikant Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena won the seat and was polled 440,892 votes with a vote share of 53.41%. NCP candidate Anand Prakash Paranjpe got 190,143 votes (23.04 %) and was the runner-up. Shrikant Shinde defeated Anand Prakash Paranjpe by a margin of 250,749 votes.
