Maharashtra: The Uddhav Thackeray Faction on Monday moved to Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission's decision recognising the Eknath Shinde-led faction as the real Shiv Sena and ordering allocation of the "bow and arrow" poll symbol to it.
Uddhav Thackeray had joined hands with NCP and Congress in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVH) alliance after parting away with the BJP and formed the government in Maharashtra after 2019 assembly elections.
His critical remarks came nearly two days after the Election Commission (EC) recognised the Shinde-led faction as the real Shiv Sena and ordered the allocation of the 'bow and arrow' poll symbol to it.
