Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: The trend of vote counting for the Lok Sabha elections showed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would make a clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh as the saffron party was leading in all 29 Lok Sabha Constituencies.

Congres set to lose its last fortress - Chhindwara

The tend also showed that BJP will get success to wrest the last fortress of Congress - Chhindwara Lok Sabha constituency from Congress. The saffron party last time won the Chhindwara seat in 1997. According to the Election Commission of India's website, BJP candidiate Vivek Bunty Sahu took a lead of over Congress leader Kamal Nath's son and sitting MP Nakul Nath.

The early trend showed that the Modi wave, which was very evident, in Madhya Pradesh continued to hurt Congress which was recently defeated in the assembly election as well.

In Madhya Pradesh, BJP won 28 Lok Sabha constituencies out of 29 in 2019 general election. The Chhindwara - Kamal Nath's bastion -  was the only seat that BJP failed to win in the last elections. In the Lok Sabha elections 2014, the saffron party won 27 seats.

Madhya Pradesh underwent polling in the four phases of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The people in the state voted during the first four phases on April 19, 26, May 7, and 13.

Key candidates in Madhya Pradesh

Out of 29 seats, all eyes are on three main constituencies from Madhya Pradesh, which includes Vidisha, Guna and Chhindwara. Chhindwara is the hottest seat in Madhya Pradesh. BJP pitted Bunty Vivek Sahu against Nakul Nath. Another significant seat is Guna - traditionally a Congress stronghold, but this election the political equation in the constituency is different as Jyotiradiya Scindia contested on the BJP ticket. The next hot seat is the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency. BJP fielded Shivraj Singh Chouhan from the Vidisha seat. Vidisha, a stronghold of BJP, has been a home turf for BJP candidate Chouhan as he won five times in the constituency before he became chief minister of the state.
