An employee at the SDM office created a high-voltage drama on Friday to stop his transfer in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district. The incidnet has been reported form Beohari tehsil. The employee climbed a tree with noose around his neck and caused commotion. He threatened the senior officials with suicide in case of his demand not being met. The video of the employee's protest on the tree has gone viral on social media.
Threatened to hang himself from the tree
According to reports, Lallu Lal Prajapati, a clerk works at the Akhetpur Court branch in Beohari tehsil. He was upset over his transfer to another branch. Agitated by this, Lallu Prajapati climbed over a tree at the tehsil office. Moreover, he tied a noose around his neck, and threatened to hang himself if his transfer order was not cancelled. He repeatedly iterated that he would commit suicide by hanging from the tree if his demand was not met. All this commotion and drama continued for hours until the Sub Divisional Magistrate, the head of Tehsil level administration, and Tehsildar arrived at the site and persuaded him to come down.
SDM assured to cancel transfer
Upon their arrival, the SDM and Tehsildar assured Lallu Prajapati that he would not be transferred, and that he would continue to work at his current branch. Following this assurance, Lallu finally came down from the tree and returned home. This incident has become a hot topic of discussion in the area.
Beohari SDM Narendra Singh Dhurve informed India TV over the phone that Lallu was acting out of frustration over his transfer. He was coaxed down from the tree, and legal action is now being considered.
