Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: The trend of vote counting for the Lok Sabha elections showed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a huge lead over Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The dominating BJP is leading in all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. It seems the saffron party will wrest Congress' only seat - Chhindwara. BJP candidiate Vivek Bunty Sahu took a lead of over Congress leader Kamal Nath's son and sitting MP Nakul Nath in the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat. In Chhattisgarh, BJP is leading in 10 constituencies out of 11.
BJP's strike rate is excellent in both states as it won 10 out of the 11 seats in Chhattisgarh from 2004 to 2014 and 9 seats in 2019. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP had 28 Lok Sabha constituencies out of 29 in 2019 general election. In the Lok Sabha elections 2014, the saffron party bagged 27 seats. The only seat the BJP could not win was Kamal Nath's bastion, the Chhindwara constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, Chhattisgarh recorded an overall voter turnout of 72.8 per cent in elections to the 11 Lok Sabha seats, registering an increase of 1.31 per cent from the 2019 figure. Total of 220 candidates contested in Chhattisgarh. Raipur had the maximum number of 38 candidates, followed by 37 in Bilaspur, 27 in Korba, 25 in Durg, 18 in Janjgir-Champa, 17 in Mahasamund, 15 in Rajnandgaon, 13 in Raigarh, 11 in Bastar, 10 in Surguja and 9 in Kanker.
