A massive fire has erupted in Indore's Regal Talkies Movies Theatre. The reason for the fire is not known yet.
Also, no reports of any casualties in the incident have surfaced so far.
The Municipal Corporation had acquired this talkies which have been closed for many years to make a new bridge.
At least 4 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The fire was so huge that the entire area was engulfed in black smog.
The talkies is situated at one of the busiest roads in the city. The flames were visible from a distance. After a fierce action by firefighters, it was finally doused but the reason remained unknown.
The fire started at the upper level of Regal Talkies, which is at a busy junction, an official said.
"The blaze has been doused. There is no report of anyone getting injured. Fire tenders reached the site a bit late due to traffic congestion," Fire department assistant sub-inspector Sunil Kumar Dubey said.
A probe has begun to find out the cause of fire, he said.
In another incident on Monday, a fire broke out in the endoscopy room on the second floor of the old OPD building of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). All patients were safely evacuated, officials said. No casualties were reported in the fire, the cause of which is still to be ascertained.
Hospital sources said the fire forced the suspension of endoscopy, emergency and diagnostics services in the old OPD building. However, in the evening they said "emergency services are in the process of being restored".
Visuals from the spot showed black smoke billowing out of the windows at noon. In a statement, AIIMS said security and fire control rooms were informed when information about the blaze out on the second floor of the old Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur OPD in the main AIIMS building was received at 11. 35 am.
"The fire was controlled immediately by AIIMS Fire Services. Subsequently, fire tender staff of the Delhi Fire Services arrived. They supported the cooling off of the area," the statement said.
