Guna Election Results 2024: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia received a massive victory defeating rival Congress leader Yadvendra Rao Deshraj Singh by 5,40,929 margin in the Guna Lok Sabha constituency. Scindia was polled 9,23,302 votes against Singh's 3,82,373 votes.
Guna is one of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took a huge lead of 1,23,054 votes over Congress candidate Rao Yadvendra Singh. Guna seat is a stronghold of the Scindia family. Guna Lok Sabha constituency comprises eight assembly constituencies - Shivpuri, Pichhore, Kolaras, Bamori, Guna (SC), Ashok Nagar (SC), Chanderi and Mungaoli. The Guna constituency is a high-profile seat because the ruling BJP fielded Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia against Congress Rao Yadvendra Singh. Guna seat is a stronghold of the Scindia family.

The Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh went to polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha election on May 7 along with another two key seats Vidisha and Rajgarh.

Guna and the other eight seats Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sagar, Bhopal and Betul received an approximate turnout of 66.5 per cent voter turnout in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections..

The result for the Chhindwara Lok Sabha constituency will be declared on June 4 along with the other 542 parliamentary constituencies of the country and assembly elections held in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
Main parties and candidates
There is a direct poll fight between Congress and BJP in the Guna constituency. The BJP candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from his home seat which was represented by his father Madhavrao Scindia as well. After father's death, Jyotiraditya maintained a victory streak in the constituency till 2019. He served as the Minister of State for Power and Corporate from 2012 to 2014 and the Union Minister in the Congress party before joining the BJP in 2020. This election, the scenario is changed as he is contesting from on former foe's (BJP) ticket. Congress pitted Rao Yadvendra Singh against the Union Minister. Singh was earlier a part of the BJP and before the assembly elections 2023, he joined the Congress. His father Deshraj Singh Yadav was a BJP MLA.
What happened in 2014 and 2019?
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP candidate Krishna Pal Singh wrested the Guna seat from Congress by defeating then grand old party stalwart Jyotiraditya with a margin of 125,549 votes. Singh got 614,049 votes with a vote share of 52.00 per cent, while Scindia got 488,500 votes with a 41.44 per cent vote share.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Scindia continued his winning streak. He defeated BJP candidate Jaibhansingh Pawaiya bagging 517,036 votes (52.89 per cent vote share). BJP's Pawaiya got 396,244 votes (40.53 per cent vote share).
