The I.N.D.I.A bloc which was formed to counter the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls seems to be falling apart as far as elections in Madhya Pradesh are concerned. The polling in Madhya Pradesh will be held in a single phase on November 17. After the Samajwadi Party, Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) has also decided to field 5 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh elections against Congress.
Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday released the list of its five candidates for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. JD(U)'s ally Congress is trying to snatch power from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh. According to a statement by JD(U) national general secretary Afaq Ahmed Khan, this is the first list released by the party for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. Now in this election, the candidates of Congress's alliance partner JD(U) will cut into the votes of Congress candidates.

BJP takes a swipe
As soon as Nitish Kumar's party fielded its candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, BJP took a sharp jibe at the JD(U) and I.N.D.I.A bloc. On this issue, BJP state vice president Santosh Pathak has said, "Nitish Kumar's patience is over now because his party is not getting preference in any alliance... No one is asking the party. The Opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc has collapsed even before the Lok Sabha elections.

Samajwadi Party (SP) had declared the list of nine candidates for the assembly elections to be held on November 17 in Madhya Pradesh. SP leader Yash Bharatiya said that the names of 6 candidates were announced earlier in this list while three new names have been added to it.
