We often talk about increasing cases of sexual assault on women and urge for strict laws to curb the deteriorating state of safety for girls in the country.
But have we ever, in our wildest dreams, thought that men can be victims too!
Since childhood we are taught that boys are strong and girls are weak. “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota” is been a famous dialogue for men, who want to portray their manhood extraordinarily.
But, it's a harsh reality that when a man falls victim to sexual assault then neither society nor Indian law system comes to his rescue.
According to Article 377: “Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.”
In India, we can never imagine a guy being on the receiving end of sexual abuse. Am I right? Do we really care about the sorry state of men in India?
