New Delhi: Relationships are hard but what's harder is the depression that the end of it comes with. You just wake up one day to realise that the person with whom you imagined spending the rest of you life is no longer a part of your existence.
Whether you took the step to end the relationship or two of you mutually decided its time to put a full stop to things; handling heartbreak is probably one of the most difficult things.
Even without your realisation there are certain aspects of your life which shaped themselves around your relationship.
But now that it is over, it is time to give a new meaning to your life. If you are finding it extremely impossible to get over your ex we have five tips which will surely work.
Let the tears flow:
Suppressing your tears is not a healthy way to tackle your heartbreak. Don't ignore them as it will only make you calloused and afraid. You need to understand that it is okay to feel angry, cheated and it is more than fine to cry on more than one occasions. After a while, you will feel lighter and will be able to move forward in your life.
Spend time outside your home:
Post breakup when the entire world comes crashing down and all you want to do is stay home and rant; don't do that. Go out in the sun and breathe some fresh air. You might think it is clichéd but fresh air actually clears your head. Take at least two hours each day just to leave your cave and interact with the rest of the world.

Surround yourself with happy vibes:
Anything from having a cup of tea with a friend to taking the kids to the zoo might do wonders for you. Be sure to surround yourself with people that will uplift you, not unhappy ones that will just drag you down.
Stop obsessing:
An end means an end, you have to understand it. Stop thinking about the could haves, would haves and work towards de-cluttering your mind. Stalking him/her on social media, checking their WhatsApp statuses, asking your common friends about their whereabouts will not ease your pain. Always remember, it is called a break up because something is broken.
Eat, sleep and exercise:
Your body can't function in absence of proper nutrition so ensure that you don't skip meals or resort to convenience food. Also, replenish your body with enough sleep. If you are having trouble going to sleep because of punishing, pain-producing thoughts, try keeping a diary by your bed where you write down your anxieties.
Make sure you feel energetic through out the day. Make a promise to yourself that you will do rigorous exercise for at least 30 minutes per day. Exercise increases your endorphins which will make you feel less miserable and sluggish.
