Actress Sonakshi Sinha is likely to be the showstopper for ace designer JJ Vallaya's collection, inspired by Russian culture at the upcoming Bridal Fashion Week.

The five-day fashion extravaganza will begin on August 7 at DLF Emporio here with designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's show. Vallaya will showcase his collection on the third day.

When asked to confirm Sonakshi's inclusion for his show, Vallaya, without denying, said, “They are known as celebrities but for us they are our finale girls and boys, whosoever we choose to work with. So, they epitomise what the collection is all about. We will hopefully be creating something nice.”

The designer said his line traverses the large extent of Russian boundaries and finds inspiration from various regions and disciples including the jewels of the czars, the Ikats of the nomadic Russia, the Onion domes of Moscow, Russian Kerchiefs and pre-rebellion architecture.

The collection is modern, yet distinctly Indian ‘with a kiss of Russia'.

Signature weaves, crepes, georgettes and other fine fabrics find themselves in this line. Various techniques ranging from Digital printing,
applique and the fabled embroideries aim to create a perfect blend of the past and todays contemporary chic.

The colour palette dabbles in Antique, metallic and neutral tones in symphony with Indian brights. The 47-year-old designer, who has been worn by celebrities like Joseph Fiennes, Cate Blanchett, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, said he has seen a sea of change in bridal couture in India.

Vallaya has noticed more changes in men's wedding styling than women's. He feels grooms take a lot of interest in what to wear on their  wedding, ditching the old trend of donning suits.

“When I got into fashion, men used to go to a fabric shop and then to a tailor and women used to visit these small embroiders who sat in streets. The embroider was the designer. Now everything is so dramatically different. “The change is there in men more. till about 25 years ago all men used to get married in suits. and today not a single guy wears suit to a wedding,” he said.
