Anjali was born on 10 November, 1967 to parents Anand Mehta and mother Annabel Mehta. Her father Anand Mehta is a Gujarati industrialist and her mother Annabel is of British origin and a social worker.
Anjali recalls of meeting Sachin for the first time at Mumbai Airport, where she was waiting to receive her mother and Sachin had just returned from his cricket tour in 1990. Both knew at that instant that they had a liking for each other.
Soon after Sachin and Anjali started going for movies, as she was still a medicine student couldn't take much time out of her schedule.
