New Delhi: Ace designer Rajesh Pratap Singh will on March 25 open the autumn-winter edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW).
The fashion week celebrates its silver jubilee in the latest edition to be held at Pragati Maidan here and who better than Rajesh Pratap Singh to start the fashion gala
"The FDCI is honoured to announce Rajesh Pratap Singh as the opening designer for the AIFW. His creative genius resonates deeply with the audience and his understated design aesthetic has always been applauded," Sunil Sethi, chief of event organiser Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) said in a statement.
The designer is known for his textiles and minimalism and promises to create the same mood for the five-day extravaganza.
Talking about the fashion show, Singh said: "We are looking forward to opening the India Fashion Week this year. Amazon's coming on board would give a much-needed shot in the arm to the industry; this association is bound to further expose designers and craftsmen to the strengths and realities of doing business in the digital world.
"I am sure that my colleagues in the fraternity would whole-hardheartedly support this partnership, keeping in mind, the boom in the online space."
