New Delhi: Designer Jyotsna Tiwari says brides in India are moving away from the traditional reds and maroons for their wedding trousseau and are no longer shy to experiment with colours and silhouettes.
"Indian women have come very far. We are no longer seeing what we used to spot five years ago. The demands have changed. The bride's style has evolved. It is not just reds, pinks and maroons for her. She is not scared to be different," Jyotsna told PTI.
The designer is gearing up for her show at the upcoming BMW India Bridal Fashion Week and will present her colourful and romance-infused line titled "Secret Garden".
Jyotsna said her collection is dreamy, poetic, romantic, and lustful, which is a perfect combination for bridal wear. The colour palette ranges from hues of peaches, pinks, corals, golds and reds.
"It is a very romantic collection, with lots of moods in it. I have used all colours which can be associated with romance like blush pinks, blush peach, lots of gold and of course we have a little bit of reds as it is the colour of the season. Flowers appear throughout the collection glimmering with embellishments."
Jyotsna said the whole look and feel of the collection is very fresh and feminine, even the silhouettes. Silhouettes include full length gowns, pre-draped sarees, cut-out dresses, full length Indian dresses and bridal lehengas.
"They are very flowy outfits. Indian silhouettes are mixed with western sensibility like a fusion. My personal style also reflects that. It is a line meant for young girls."
The designer said it took her around five months to put together the whole collection.
