New Delhi: Hollywood A-listers, entrepreneurs, CEOs of giants, and top-notch names have successfully pulled off the newest trend that has gone viral; the 'Ice-bucket challenge'.


Popularly known as ALS Ice-bucket challenge; an activity that involves people to dump upon themselves a bucket full of ice water and also donate to the ALS association around United States and a cancer research center in New Zealand.

This highly interesting yet insane activity involves individuals to pull off the challenge within 24 hours of being nominated and further nominate another contestant.

Started up as a small activity to raise funds for cancer research, it went viral during the summers of 2014, and by now has to its list some big names including those of, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mark Zuckerberg etc.

Exciting yet controversial part of this challenge is to either undergo this unassisted cold-water challenge & pay $10, or deny doing it & donate $100.

 


Started up as trend among locals it isn't exactly known, when this challenge did went up to bring in top-notch names into it.

Widely popularized with U.S. at first, this fad has been taken up by people from various countries including U.K. as well.

Till now, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, talk show hot Oprah Winfrey, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg,  singer and actor Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, actor and former WWE champion Dwayne Johnson, WWE champion Triple H, American businesswoman Martha Stewart, and Lil Wayne have successfully completed this challenge and donated their part to ALS association.
