Food will be pre-cooked and bought from a nearby hotel to be heated and served to the patrons due to which prior online booking has to be done, he added.
The bus has a capacity to accommodate 20 people on each deck. While the top deck is an open-air facility, the lower deck is air-conditioned cabin.
The Marine Drive also houses the city's only revolving restaurant.
Shah said each bus costs Rs 1 crore with all the modifications and the company has necessary permissions in place to operate.
However, it does not have the permissions to serve alcohol yet and will be applying for one soon, he said.
An unlimited vegetarian meal will cost Rs 1,200, while a non-vegetarian one will be Rs 1,400 apiece.
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation will help the company market the idea.
Inaugurating the service, MTDC Managing Director Jagdish Patil said such attractions are very important as they ultimately help increase the tourism potential of the city.
