New Delhi: Having sex is an activity of immense pleasure. In fact the process of love-making is also considered one of the key essentials for strengthening the bond between couples.
But what if this love-making turns out to be a dangerous step?
Well, according to a recent study, one of the most common sexual positions is considered as highly risky, especially for men.
A group of scientists revealed that nearly half of all penile fractures sustained during intercourse are caused due to the ‘woman-on-top position'.
Reportedly the scientists believe that this happens because in this position, the woman controls the penis with her entire body weight landing on it. However she is unable to interrupt sex when it suffers a ‘wrong way penetration'.
Although, there isn't much harm caused to a woman in this position, it is the man who has the maximum risk. According to the study, several men experienced severe pain and even heard an audible crack after the incident.
While 'woman on top' is the riskiest, positions involving the ‘woman on all-fours' were also involved in 29 per cent of fractures.
However, the ‘missionary position' or the ‘man-on-top' is considered as the safest position.
