The holy month of Ramadan is here again. It is a time for reflection, contemplation and celebration. It is celebrated by the Muslim community all around the world. Ramadan falls depending upon the lunar position as the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle, which is the cycle of the moon. The holy month of Ramadan rotates by around 10 days each year. In 2019, Ramadan was expected to begin on May 5, however, it was delayed based on the sighting of the moon. In this holy month, Muslims observe water-less fast from sunrise to sunset, reciting verses from Quran and attending prayer sessiosn in Mosque. For the community, Ramadan is the best month to be closest to the God. In some countries like Jordan, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, Ramadan began on May 6, while other countries will mark the holy month on May 7.
