The festive season kickstarts with one of the most festival celebrated by Indian women- Karva Chauth. This year Karva Chauth is being celebrated on 27th October, 2018. It is a highly famous celebration which is carried out by married women in India. Karva Chauth is observed on the fourth day after full moon of Hindu month of Kartik. Even unmarried women observe fast to have the husband they desire or for their fiancés. Over the years, Karva Chauth has been an integral part of festivals celebrated by Hindu women of India. With mainstream Bollywood showing Karva Chauth with exuberance, it has become a rather fashion in Northern India. So, would it be fair to celebrate Karva Chauth without a touch of Bollywood? Nay! 

Bollywood songs for Karva Chauth 2018 celebrations: 

Ghar Aja Pardesi (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge) 

Released in 1995, this song topped the chartbuster for several consequent weeks. Penned by vetera lyricist Anand Bakshi and composed by Jatin-Lalit, this song entered the list of all-time favourite romantic songs of many Indians. 

Chand Chhupa Badal Mein (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) 

This is yet another song which can narrate your plight waiting for the moon to rise. This super-romantic track from movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is composed by Ismail Darbar and penned by Sameer. Featuring Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, the song exudes love in its purest form.

Chand Aur Piya (Aashik Aawara) 

Another song portraying a woman’s wait for the moon on Karva Chauth is Chand Aur Piya from movie Aashik Aawara. It features Mamta Kulkarni waiting for the moon and her lover. Sadhana Sargam has voiced the song and it is quite a hit on the occasion of Karva Chauth even to this day. 

Saajan Saajan Teri Dulhan (Aarzoo) 

Women are dressed beautifully, no less than a bride, on the occasion of Karva Chauth. Hence, this song is a perfect pick for the women who wait for their lovers on the auspicious day. It is filmed on Madhuri Dixit who’s waiting for her husband Saif Ali Khan in the film Aarzoo. 

Mera Maahi (Dhai Akshar Prem Ke) 

It’s a visual delight to see the real-life couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in this music track from Dhai Akshay Prem Ke. Dressed in traditional ensemble and jewels, Aish waits for her husband Abhishek to come home.
