Tamannaah Bhatia takes us through her mother's rooted regime with natural ingredients and her own hacks to see through winter skincare. The actress has always sworn by a set of cardinal skin and hair care rules to keep her skin supple and her complexion glowing. Taking cues straight from her mother's unbleached beauty bible, the Bahubali actress' not-so-secret to refreshed and radiant skin lies within an unfiltered kit of time and tested DIY recipes. After years of subjection to inimical synthetics and cosmetics inconsequential to her acting career, Bhatia has naturally maneuvered to a 'less is more' modus operandi and we definitely commend it.

Tamannaah Bhatia's skin care routine

"After experiencing a lot of chemical usage, I wanted to incorporate something natural in my routine." Akin to her recent hit movie's name, Tamannaah's humble homemade hacks always have a 'Plan A' as well as a 'Plan B' and can be altered to suit any and every skin type accordingly. In a tutorial uncovering her economical yet effective approach to skincare, the actor starts off by sharing an exfoliating face scrub remedy that every busy girl needs in her vanity.

To make the mix, marry together a teaspoon of Indian Sandalwood (Chandan) and ground coffee each with some organic honey. She says "I would suggest trying to look for raw or organic ingredients If you wish for your skin to truly benefit from these remedies."

All the components of this concoction are otherwise arid in nature. "If you have a dry skin type you can always add in more honey and adjust the scrub to cater to your skin's needs as you see fit" Bhatia shares. Once the blend is ready, slowly massage it into your skin and ensure to stray away from the eyes or under-eye area. Scrub for a few minutes, and not any longer to avoid any redness or irritation, and wash off after ten minutes to leave your skin supple, softer, and smoother. The recipe will also help you get rid of any dead skin that's built up on your skin surface after long hours under the sun or continuous usage of makeup.

Up next in Tamannaah Bhatia's simpler skincare regime, we turn to the heirloom hydrating mask the star has been religiously employing ever since her childhood. "I remember when I was younger, I couldn't use certain products because my skin would get irritated very easily. Back then, gram flour and yogurt were my go-tos."

Find a friend in yogurt (Dahi) and gram flour (besan), as Bhatia reveals another confidential component from the actor's vanity that will work wonders for your skin. The answer? Rosewater. Ridding of any redness that is visible on your face after skincare, rosewater is a powerhouse packed with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. To try the face mask, make a paste of rose water and besan with the tip of your fingers, once it's blended, add in some yogurt for thickness and extra hydration. "Try using cold yogurt or Dahi on your skin for a smoother cooling effect and best results" the star suggests.

"Remember, your mask's consistency's in your hands. On days when you want a cleansing effect, you can make it thicker. And on days you wish to make it more hydrating or moisturizing, you can add in more yogurt." The best part about this DIY? It can be customized to a consistency that best suits your skin's needs. Slather the mix onto your face evenly, and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. The actor recommends "If you want to check for possible allergic reactions to any of these ingredients, always remember to do a patch test on your hand or neck area first".
