As many as four people, including a minor, were killed and three others were injured when a car they were travelling in rammed into a parked truck on National Highway-48 near Chitradurga in Karnataka on Monday morning.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as Samsuddin (40), Mallika (37), Khalil (42) and Tabrej (13). Three others Nargis, Rehan and Rehman were injured in the accident and are being treated at the district hospital in Chitradurga.
As per preliminary information, the car was en route from Hospet to Tumakuru when the accident happened. "The incident took place near Mallapura in Chitradurga. A car with 7 passengers rammed into a parked lorry on National Highway-48," said police. The police further said that the injured have been shifted to the district hospital, Chitradurga and the lorry driver has been detained, said police.
