Suraj Revanna, the JDS MLC and elder brother of former Hasan MP Prajwal Revanna has filed a complaint against one of his party leader accusing him of threatening to lodge a false sexual assault case against him to extort money.
The latest incident comes at the heels of his brother's incarceration in a sexual abuse case, following the wide circulation of his various obscene videos. The complaint was lodged by Shivakumar, a close aide of Suraj on Friday. Acting on the complaint the Holenarasipura police registered an FIR against Chethan K S and his brother-in-law. Meanwhile, Chethan had also lodged a police complaint accusing Suraj Revanna of sexually abusing him.
What is in the FIR?
According to the complaint lodged by Shivakumar, Chethan became his friend and subsequently started working for 'Suraj Revanna Brigade'.
Recently, Chethan asked for money to run his family, but after Shivakumar refused to give him money, he threatened to lodge a police complaint against Suraj Revanna claiming that he sexually assaulted him, the complainant alleged.
As per Shivakumar's complaint, Chethan demanded Rs 5 crore and later reduced the demand to Rs 2 crore. Accordingly, the Police have registered a case under sections 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (involvement of others in the conspiracy) against Chethan and his brother-in-law.
Prajwal Revanna in judicial custody
Prajwal Revanna, who is also facing trials in sexual abuse case was sent to judicial custody on June 10. In the most recent development, his judicial custody was extended to 14 days on June 18. Notably, he found himself gripped in a sexual abuse case following his multiple explicit videos became public. When the case came to light he was in Germany and was booked on April 28. Later, he was arrested upon his arrival in India on May 31. Moreover, his father HD Revanna is also lodged in prison on the charges of abducting a woman, whose son claimed that he saw his mother in one of the Prajwal Revanna's obscene videos.
