In a scathing critique of the Congress administration in Karnataka, veteran BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa accused the government of complete failure across all sectors, declaring it "as good as dead." Yediyurappa, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, claimed that the government's inability to address critical issues and its financial bankruptcy have led to this grim assessment.
Yediyurappa expressed deep concern over the state's financial situation, highlighting its inability to manage the drought crisis, fulfill election promises, and even pay the salaries of government employees. He argued that the government's extension of the pay commission's tenure was indicative of its dire financial straits.
Speaking to reporters, Yediyurappa emphasised that the Congress-led government has failed in various sectors since coming to power in the last five to six months. He characterized the state government as "totally bankrupt" and contrasted it with Karnataka's status as one of the more developed states in the country during the BJP's tenure.
Yediyurappa firmly stated that his party, the BJP, would not tolerate the government's failures and irresponsible practices any longer. He announced plans for a protest against the government's shortcomings, aiming to draw attention to its alleged financial crisis and overall ineffectiveness.
Furthermore, Yediyurappa criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for their perceived "irresponsible" comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. He warned that if these leaders continue to criticize the respected Prime Minister, they will face consequences as the people "will teach them a lesson."
The political landscape in Karnataka appears to be heating up as Yediyurappa's sharp criticisms and threats of agitation against the government bring increased tension between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP. The public will be closely watching how these political developments unfold in the coming days.
