Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government has set up an inquiry commission led by a retired High Court judge to investigate the alleged irregularities in oxygen supply during the COVID pandemic in the previous BJP regime.
The government issued an order in this regard on Friday and said that it expected the Justice John Michael D'Cunha-led commission to submit the report in three months.
According to the government, it has taken serious note of charges by the Public Accounts Committee in its report in July-August regarding various issues including procurement of medicines, equipment, and alleged oxygen mismanagement.
The government’s order said that the concerned departments would have to issue the documents required for the investigation.
Congress has alleged that there were large-scale irregularities in the COVID management during the BJP government in the state.
It had promised to conduct a fair inquiry into the irregularities if voted to power.
