In a shocking kidnapping case caught on camera, a school teacher was grabbed and pushed into an SUV by three men in Karnataka's Hassan district on Thursday morning. According to reports, the kidnapping victim Arpita was allegedly abducted by a relative and she and her family members rejected his marriage proposal.
The dramatic visuals show one person loitering on the street while Arpita was walking. An SUV was seen slowly approaching the woman, after which a second man ran down the street and grabbed the woman with the help of the first man. A third man came from the vehicle and further helped the two in forcing Arpita into the car.
Arpita was abducted while she was on her way to school at around 8 am today, when the three kidnappers forced her into a Toyota Innova. The teacher's family members alleged that their relative Ramu was responsible for the kidnapping.
According to reports citing the victim's family, Arpita and Ramu were in a relationship for around four years, after which the latter proposed marriage to her family. However, Arpita and her family members rejected the proposal and he decided to kidnap the teacher in a fit of anger.
Police have formed three teams to trace the kidnappers. Superintendent of Police Mohammed Sujeetha said that the police are also investigating why Arpita had left her home when all schools in Karnataka were closed to mark Kanaka Dasa Jayanti.
