Karnataka: In a shocking incident, a farmer accidentally bump into a car, after which he had to pay with 2.5-tonne tomatoes laden in his truck. According to reports, a gang of three hijacked and fled with the truck after realising that the farmer identified as Mallesh had no cash to compensate them for the broken mirror of the car. The accident took place in the Chikkajala area that caused damage to the window of the car. When the gang failed to cough up money from the farmer, they drive away with the tomatoes.
Case has been registered
A case has been registered and efforts are underway to nab the culprits. According to the police, Mallesh was transporting the tomatoes to Kolar on Saturday when the truck accidentally bumped into the car in which the accused were travelling.
The accused also abused the farmer and demanded hefty compensation as the accident caused damage to the car, they were travelling in. When the farmer and his driver tried to convince the gang that they did not have the money, the three allegedly took control of the truck forcefully and fled away.
They fled with truck
They pushed the farmer and his driver out of the vehicle and sped away with the truck containing tomatoes totalling about 2.5 tonnes, worth between Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh.
