Heat Wave: The Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) on Friday issued a heat wave warning for isolated pockets of Karnataka, saying it's likely to become extremely hot especially in Coastal Karnataka and is likely to continue till Sunday.

The average maximum temperature recorded in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka was 36.7 degree Celcius.

The districts that are likely to experience heat waves till Sunday, as predicted by weather agencies, are Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi. In some districts like Hassan, the temperature dropped to 13.3 degrees Celsius, and in areas like Chikkamagaluru, Chikkaballapura, Tumakuru, Hassan, and Shivamogga districts, the temperature was between nine to eleven degrees Celsius.
