Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who was scheduled to hold an election campaign rally in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Monday, had escaped a major accident while landing at a local helipad.
The incident happened in Kalaburagi's Jewargi after the helicopter carrying the former CM encountered a difficult situation during its attempted landing due to the presence of plastic sheets and waste strewn around the helipad area.
Reacting swiftly, the pilot aborted the landing and hover in the air. However, later, the chopper landed safely after the security personnel cleared the landing area.
Notably, the state is scheduled to hold the Assembly elections this year and the veteran BJP leader was in Kalaburagi to participate in the party's 'Jana Sanakalpa Yatra.'
